Q |
Are there any fees to me, the employee? |
| A |
No, there are no fees. Even if the position becomes permanent there
are still no fees to the employee. |
Q |
Are jobs through Perry all contract positions, or are there permanent
positions as well? |
| A |
Many positions that are available are considered "temp to perm"
or "contract to hire". Companies are taking advantage of being able to
review a person's work ethic before hiring, so while Perry cannot guarantee permanent
placement on a temporary assignment, the opportunity is there should the company be
satisfied with your work. Some of the projects will have definite end dates,
however, and you will be aware of this before accepting the job. As you near
completion of these projects, we will begin searching new assignments for you! |
| Q |
How long are most contract assignments? |
| A |
While some short-term assignments are available, most technical
assignments are long-term, lasting 6 months or longer. As mentioned above, many of
these contract assignments can lead to permanent positions. |
| Q |
Will my resume ever be sent to a company or organization without my
knowledge? |
| A |
No. Perry will always contact you for your approval before
submitting your resume to any of our customers. Your resume is always used in
confidence. |
| Q |
How does working for Perry Personnel differ from being a permanent
employee elsewhere, or from working as an independent contractor? |
| A |
Instead of being a routine staff member of one company, you might
experience working with a variety of organizations. Working on a project basis
through Perry Personnel can offer you numerous opportunities to expand and sharpen your
skills! |
| Q |
What kinds of assignments will I receive? |
| A |
It depends on your skills, schedule and desires. Perry Personnel has
assignments for Engineers, Programmers, PC Techs., CAD, Tool & Die, Industrial and
General Labor and several Clerical and Professional assignments. |
| Q |
What kind of money can I make? |
| A |
Weekly pay is based upon an agreed hourly rate. Different positions
will demand different skill levels which will obviously reflect varying pay structures.
Again, you will be able to make good decisions because pay is negotiated before
your acceptance of the position. FICA, Federal and State taxes are deducted as
usual. Other items to be deducted will be at the employees request only. |
| Q |
Do you have entry-level assignments? |
| A |
Most Technical or Professional positions require experience.
However, there are usually many openings for entry-level skills. |
| Q |
Who supervises my work? |
| A |
Even though you work through Perry Personnel, your work is supervised and
critiqued by our customer. Specific questions about job duties can be directed to
your supervisor. |
| Q |
Do I have to accept assignments offered to me? |
| A |
No. You can accept or refuse and offer. It is your decision to
make. Perry Personnel prefers you turn down offers that are not 100% suitable to
you. Likewise, if you do accept an assignment, Perry Personnel expects you to
complete the assignment or at least give plenty of notice if you must leave. |
